Guess what I did at lunch today?

Co-worker got one and we took turns riding it around the parking lot!

It’s surprisingly fun and makes me realize just how much I miss being on 2 wheels. Thursday my term paper is due, I think I’m going to celebrate the end of class by disassembling my CB-1 so I can start rebuilding the carbs.

It was! And I was actually surprised at the quality of it. When I first saw it I figured it was another piece of chinese junk, but I made a show of looking it over, mostly because my coworker is excited about it and I didn’t want to be an ass. But the more I looked at it, the more I was like “Wow, this thing is quality. ” I don’t have tons of scooter experience but it’s definitely the nicest one I’ve ever seen in terms of fit and finish and quality of components.

Riding it was fun, made me giggle like a child. I used to have the CBR-1000RR, that kind of set the bar for me in terms of 2 wheel performance, but the scooter is a great reminds that fun doesn’t have to mean fast.

See my reply to Ms. Mercedes above - I was shocked at how nice it was.

They make 2 versions, the regular and the S port. He got the S port which has nicer looking wheels, an adjustable rear shock with external reservior, and some other little upgrades. He bought it at College Scooters back around Christmas time and he said it was about $2,000.

Genuine’s basically one of the best scooter manufacturers that isn’t one of the big Japanese firms or Vespa. Some of them look like cheap Chinese clones, but that’s because the Chinese are the ones that copied them. lol

IIRC, you can still get the Buddy50 as a two stroke. I didn’t know any manufacturer was still building street legal bikes/scooters with a two stroke!

The one I rode today wa s a Rough House 50 and it’s a 2 stroke. As I was riding around the parking lot one of the maintenance guys was out trimming weeds, so I pulled up next to him and started revving it up. It was pretty funny.

Yeah, I was impressed.  And I noticed the Made in Taiwan stickers when I was climbing around on it.
